The Relax & Renew Series

It's a new year and it's time to let go of the stress from 2009! In this series of four classes, we will do yoga poses that release toxins, stretch and relax your body and open your heart and mind in a peaceful and effective manner.

Class 1: Breath & Moving Meditation (2/8)
Strong focus on pranayama (breathing techniques) to relax and cleanse the body and mind. We will also do Vinyasa-style yoga poses in a slow-flowing, meditative pace, followed by relaxation and meditation.

Class 2: Joint Release & Body Detox (3/8)
Flex and exercise our abused and under-appreciated joints. Strong ankles, feet and wrists create a stable body in poses and in life.
We will also do specific full-body poses to detox the body and mind, followed by relaxation and meditation.

Class 3: Restorative Yoga (3/15)
Bring your pillows, blankets and props for this very relaxing and effective style of yoga. Restorative yoga has been described as "yoga being done to you" because the body is draped over props and the stretches are happening without stress on the body. We will release and stretch the body in a passive way. This entire class is meditative.

Class 4: Full Meditation (3/22)
The final class in the series is all about breath and stretching to ready the body for an hour of guided meditation.

Mondays at 7:45pm at 275 90th Street (2/8, 3/8, 3/15 & 3/22--No Class on President's Day--Healing Circle on 2/22).
The cost for the full series is $70 when you pre-register by 1/31 ($85 after or $25 per class at the door).

This class is for students ages 14 and up. Pregnant students are welcome.
